Delete your LocalE account

Last updated 30 August 2026

This page is for LocalE, the neighbourhood marketplace app published by LocalE, Bengaluru. It explains how to delete your LocalE account and exactly what happens to your data when you do.

The short version. Open the app, go to your profile and tap Delete my account. Everything that identifies you is erased immediately. Records of orders you actually placed are kept, because tax rules require them and because they belong to the person on the other side of the order too. If you can't get into the app, email support@localeapp.in and we'll do it for you.

1. Delete it yourself, in the app

This is the fastest route and it takes effect straight away — no request, no queue, no waiting for us.

  1. Open LocalE and sign in if you aren't already.
  2. If you buy on LocalE, open the Profile tab. If you sell, open the Shop tab and scroll to the bottom.
  3. Tap Delete my account, underneath Sign out.
  4. Read what will be deleted and what will be kept, then confirm.

You'll be signed out and returned to the sign-in screen. Your account is gone at that point.

If the app says you have an order that hasn't finished

We won't delete an account in the middle of a live order — the other person is still waiting on food, goods or money, and they haven't agreed to you disappearing. Finish it, cancel it, or decline it from the order screen, then try again. Orders you have already received settle on their own within 72 hours and don't block anything.

2. Ask us to delete it

Lost your phone, changed your number, uninstalled the app, or can't sign in for any other reason? You do not need to reinstall anything.

Email support@localeapp.in from the address you registered with, or from any address, with:

We may ask one question to confirm the account is yours — we are not going to delete somebody's account because a stranger emailed us their phone number. Once we're satisfied it's you:

3. What is deleted

All of this is erased and cannot be recovered:

If you sell on LocalE, your shop goes too — its name, description, logo and cover photo, its pickup address, your UPI details, your opening hours and delivery charges, and every listing, post and scheduled batch. Buyers stop seeing it immediately.

4. What is kept, and why

Deleting your account does not erase the record of business you did with other people. Two reasons, and they are both real:

So we keep:

None of it is connected to you any more. Your account record is emptied and left in place only so that those orders still add up; there is no name, phone number, photo or address on it, and nothing can sign in as it. Nobody using LocalE — including the people you ordered from — can see who it used to be.

These records are kept for as long as tax and financial rules require records of transactions to be retained, and are then deleted.

5. Questions

Anything about this — including if you've asked for a deletion and haven't heard back:
